Who We Are

The Remnant Church is a non-denominational congregation in La Grange, Texas that is dedicated to Reaching the Lost and Raising the Found in our area! Our vision: Jesus is Changing My Life points to a life-long journey of growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ!

What does "The Remnant" mean? We can find references in the Bible to a "remnant," referring to God's people who will choose to remain with Him.

The idea of remaining with Jesus throughout our journey is found in our vision theme scripture, "I pray with great faith for you, because I'm fully convinced that the One who began this gracious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)

Life with Jesus is a journey, and as The Remnant Church, our prayer is that each of us will make the choice to remain connected to Jesus as we grow and learn both personally and as a group together!

Our History

In the summer of 1996, Dennis and Jan Hill began praying with others in their living room every Saturday evening. By the fall of 1996, Saturday prayer grew to a Wednesday night Bible study. So many people began to attend that Coach Hill prayed and was led by God to rent a building, and The Remnant Church was birthed.

Coach Hill was ordained as Pastor Dennis Hill in 1997. That same year, The Remnant Church was opened in the Riverside Shopping Center west of downtown La Grange. Two years later, in 1999, Pastor Hill and the church bought 5 acres of land on Cedar Creek Drive as well as the children’s church building, which was already on the property. The year 2002 brought progress and promise for the new Remnant Church land which included the purchase of an additional brand-new children’s church building, allowing the children’s ministry to grow. In late 2002, ground was broken for the new Remnant sanctuary.

In The Remnant’s seventh year, the church’s main sanctuary was completed on June 15, 2003. The open-air pavilion, located behind the sanctuary was completed in 2006, and the church offices were added to the front of the sanctuary in 2007. A brand new children's education center was completed by the end of 2009.

The Remnant Church strives to be a truth center in Fayette County because those who know the truth, can live in the freedom of Christ! (John 8:31-32).
